At the dentist office last week, I finally lost the battle to save a tooth bridge that I had maintained for 40 years since 1974. The bridge was only rebuilt once during that time in 2002. I don't know if anyone is keeping records of this type, but it has been a great run.
For another record note, I have a crown that was installed on another tooth in 1974, and it is still in good shape today. Regular flossing, brushing, and using a 50% concentration of Listerine once daily has helped me preserve my teeth. I still have 25 more teeth, and I hope I will be able to keep them until I am laid to rest someday.
The point of all this is that I have a positive attitude about the matter. I enjoyed the teeth for many years, and there is more to life than losing a couple teeth. I have a good job and reasonable health for being 64 years old. I live in a great place, and I can still walk around very well. So, I choose to look at the bright side of life.
